CHANHASSEN, Minn. (KNSI) - A tornado watch has been posted for 29 Minnesota counties, including those within our listening area. 

The National Weather Service says the watch will continue through 9pm on Tuesday night. 

According to the NWS, a few showers and thunderstorms are possible over the region early to mid afternoon. However, stronger storms will develop late this afternoon and persist into the evening hours, with some capable of producing severe weather.

Affected counties include Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Morrison, Todd and Wright.
