ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud area along with much of central Minnesota was issued a Tornado Watch Tuesday evening by the National Weather Service.

This watch was issued for Stearns, Sherburne, Benton and 21 other Minnesota counties, including Anoka, Big Stone, Chippewa, Chisago, Douglas, Grant, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Pope, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Traverse, Wright, and Yellow Medicine.

The NWS reported that the flash flooding remains a threat as the warm front moves in from the Dakotas bringing along Severe Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, damaging winds and large hail possible. 

 

TORNADO WATCH: Read the National Weather Service alert of a Tornado Watch affecting St. Cloud, Stearns County through 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

 

This watch remains in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday and the Flash Flood Watch for Central Minnesota expires 1 p.m. Wednesday.
