ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week across Minnesota this week, the National Weather Service will be conducting a pair of statewide tornado drills today (Thursday).

The first will occur at 1:45 pm, and will give schools and businesses a chance to practice their storm preparedness plans in the event severe weather strikes.

A second tornado drill will be held at 6:55 pm for families and homeowners to practice those same plans.

Last summer was a quiet season for tornadoes in Minnesota, with fewer than twenty confirmed reports across the entire state.
