CASS LAKE, Minn. (KNSI) The State Patrol says three people from a Mississippi family were killed and another is in critical condition following a single vehicle accident in Cass County, Minnesota.

A pickup was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2, nine miles east of Cass Lake. The driver lost control and the pickup left the road, hit some trees and a stump, rolled, and then came to rest on its roof.

Three passengers in the pickup were killed--27 year-old Catherine Statham, three year-old Jeremiah Statham and one year-old Emma Statham.

The driver--28 year-old Jeremiah Statham--is in critical condition in a Duluth hospital.

The family is from Foxworth, Mississippi.

The accident was reported just after 5:30 Saturday evening.

The Patrol says the highway was icy at the time of the crash.
