ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Three people have been arrested after officers with the Cenral Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force executed a search warrant at two separate apartments at 1001 Washington Memorial Drive in St. Cloud.

The search was the result of a combination of citizen complaints, police calls for service and surveillance conducted by investigators as part of their investigation into the sale of drugs from that address.

During the search warrant, officers found controlled substances in both apartments, including cocaine. They also found ammunition and a handgun.

Several people present at the time of the search were detained and later released.

Three people were arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail. Twenty year-old Justin Tony Smithers was wanted on outstanding misdemeanor warrants, 24 year-old Jasmine Latara-Lynn Shelton was arrested for fifth-degre possession of a controlled substance and 24 year-old Gerry Carter was arrested for third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

The search warrant was carried out by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT Team.
