ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - It only happens once every 100 years or so-- The Transit of Venus. Tomorrow the planet of Venus will cross between Earth and the Sun and lucky for us in Minnesota-- the St. Cloud State Planetarium is hosting a viewing event.
It'll start right around 5 p-m -- in our area, we'll see the beginning of the Transit Tuesday around 5:08 PM and they will broadcast a live stream of the event -- we'll see about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of the celestial event ---unfortunately we won't be able to see the end of it here in the States because the Sun will set for us before the Transit is over
The event is free and is located at the St. Cloud State Planetarium at the Wick Science Building. And Just a friendly reminder... The transit of Venus--much like a solar eclipse requires protective eyeware.
