ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The city of St. Cloud will have a study done on whether the River's Edge Convention Center might be better off with a private operations and marketing staff.
The council agreed to the study last night. It'll be done by an Iowa-based consulting firm at a cost of 32-thousand dollars.
Right now, the operations and marketing of the convention center are done by a mix of city staff and outside entities. City Administrator Mike Williams says River's Edge has a full-time staff of four, and already outsources some work, including catering.
The St. Cloud Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will pick up 15-thousand dollars of the cost of that study.
