A strong year for Amtrak

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Amtrak hauled more than 31-point-2 million passengers in Fiscal Year 2012--a new record for annual ridership.
Passenger traffic increased 3.5 % for the Fiscal Year ending September 30th, and ticket revenue climbed nearly seven pecent.
All 15 Amtrak long-distance routes saw gains.
The Empire Builder--which runs through Minnesota--climbed nearly 16 percent.
A total of 181,535 passengers rode the rails during the 12-month span--including 13,740 through the St. Cloud station.
