ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The executive director of St. Cloud's STRIDE Academy is on paid administrative leave, that's while the charter school's board investigates claims Dale Beutel committed significant financial and management breaches.
Beutel was put on leave after a closed door meeting of the board Monday.
The meeting came after a letter to the board by Friends of Education; they're the agency that authorizes STRIDE's charter. In it, the group cited several concerns including, inadequate financial oversight, an improper business relationship with a group that handles after-school activities for the school and incorrect reporting to the state Department of Education.
If proved, Friends of Education would be authorized to terminate STRIDE's charter. The board was expected to announce their response to the allegations at tonight's regular board meeting.
