ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Four men are facing felony charges after a series of events which led to the recovery of stolen copper wire and burglary tools in St. Cloud and Rice.

St. Cloud Police say charges are pending against 35 year old Jerry Mensing of Waite Park, 31 year old Nathan Opatz and 27 year old Luke Plemel, both of Sauk Rapids, after the three were caught in a parking lot at 2550 7th Street North early Thursday morning with a large amount of wire and tools.

A subsequent investigation led police to a storage shed in Rice, where police then arrested 36 year old Billy Quirk for receiving stolen property and driving after a revoked license.

After using a search warrant on both the shed and a nearby vehicle, officers found approximately $15,000 worth of stolen copper, tools, and electrical and plumbing equipment.

Police say they believe the items are connected to a string of recent burglaries in the St. Cloud area.

The St. Cloud Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's department are involved with this investigation.
