ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A businessman from the Stillwater area says he is seeking the Democratic endorsement to challenge U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann in November.

Brian McGoldrick of Washington County's May Township announced his campaign Thursday. McGoldrick launched several photo-related businesses that he sold in the 1990s, has worked in real estate development and also owns a marina and restaurant on White Bear Lake. He says he'll partly self-finance his campaign.

McGoldrick and another Democrat, St. Cloud attorney Anne Nolan, are seeking the party endorsement and both say they'll abide by it.

McGoldrick criticizes Bachmann for being more focused on her presidential campaign and national profile in the last two years and says she's done nothing to create jobs. A Bachmann spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
