WINONA, Minn. (AP) - The Winona County sheriff's department still has no solid leads in the case of a newborn girl found floating in a bag in the Mississippi River.
Boaters discovered the body about 2 p.m. Monday on the river about 6 miles south of Winona.
An autopsy is being conducted.
County Sheriff Dave Brand is asking the public for help. He says the sheriff's department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Winona County Attorney's Office conducted interviews Wednesday, but no leads had developed.
A Winona Daily News reports that the sheriff's department is also checking local hospitals.
