ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The Stearns County Board of Commissioners voted to raise a number of fees at their meeting Tuesday.
A study of county fees found Stearns County ranking lower than neighboring and similar-sized counties in Minnesota
Auditor-treasurer Randy Schreifels says the fee increases will generate another $205,000 a year in revenue.
A construction permit for a new or replacement home will increase by $150 to $250, depending on if its in a shoreland area. A conditional use permit will cost $100 more. Restaurant and bar licenses will be going up by $20 to $55, depending on size, and parking at Quarry Park is going up. A single day parking pass will cost a dollar more, and a yearly permit will go up two dollars. Fees are also going up for pool inspections and septic system permits.
The new fees take effect January 1st..
