ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A Minnesota State Patrol trooper says he was not distracted by his squad car laptop when he ran a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle in Stearns County last year.

Gregg Gerhartz pleaded not guilty to two counts of inattentive driving.  Two people were hurt when Gerhartz rolled through the intersection at Stearns County Road 29 and Highway 71 south of Sauk Centre last November.

Prosecutors say Gerhartz was using the computer in his car and not paying attention to the road when he ran that stop sign without stopping.  Both victims recovered.

A pre-trial hearing in the case is set for July.
