ST. PAUL Minn. (KNSI) - Despite high heat and suffocating humidty, the Minnesota State Fair still brought in plenty of visitors.
Over 236,000 visitors entered the fairgrounds on September 1, making it the busiest day in state fair history, while the Labor Day crowd of more than 164,000 set a record for the holiday.
As for the total number of guests for the fair, that number checked in at 1,731,000.
In total, vendors served up nearly 500 different types of food, 70+ of which were "on a stick."
The 2014 Minnesota State Fair ran Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
