ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - Four-million dollars from the recently-signed bonding bill will be used to expand the facility for St. Cloud Technical and Community College's 37 year-old auto body program.
The college's dean of trades and industry Bruce Peterson says the new facility will be more than 17,000 square feet. The college will lose more than 150 parking spaces because of the expansion, but that's more than offset by an additional 311 parking spots that opened last August.
Around 20 students graduate from the auto body program at SCTCC each year. Peterson says with the expansion, he expects the number of students enrolled in the program will jump nearly fifty percent.
