MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings say personal seat licenses are just one vehicle that can be used to help fund a new stadium.
But, Vice President Lester Bagley says no decision has been made on whether to pursue the funding mechanism.
About 60 percent of seats in new NFL stadiums are licensed. Fans buy their seats from the team and pay for game tickets separately.
A team typically offers additional benefits, such as free parking, for the license fee.
University of Southern California professor and stadium consultant David Carter tells Minnesota Public Radio News Minnesota fans will likely hear more about the personal seat license and how many seats will be involved. About 90 percent of seats at the New York's MetLife Stadium are licensed.
