COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (KNSI) - Some classes at St. John's University as well as all classes at St. John's Preparatory School were canceled after a power outage on the Collegeville campuses Tuesday morning, the schools reported.
All classes at St. John's Prep were cancelled Tuesday while crews looking into the outage, according to a school spokeswoman. It was not immediately clear what led to the power problem.

Athletic events and practices could continue as scheduled Tuesday afternoon if power is restored, according to the school's website. Students were encouraged to check their emails periodically Tuesday for possible updates or assignments from teachers.
Meanwhile, St. John's University morning classes in the Quad were cancelled through noon Tuesday, the school website reported. St. John's staff working in the Quad were asked to report to work at noon.
