St. Cloud Teachers Still Negotiating

ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - With the start of a new school year just ten weeks away, St. Cloud School District teachers are still without a contract.
The district has been in negotiations with teachers since October, and moved to mediation at the request of teachers in May. Two meetings with a mediator have not produced an agreement, and the next bargaining session is scheduled for July 30th.
Mary Broderick is president of the St. Cloud Education Chapter. She says the two sides are still pretty far apart. Superintendent Bruce Watkins says he's like to meet with the teachers and the mediator sooner than the next scheduled session.
