ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – District administrators implemented multiple changes to the St. Cloud School District's 2012-2013 school handbook, highlighted by changes in the student attire guidelines.
Students are no longer allowed to wear flip flops for recess or physical education classes, and skirts, shorts and skorts must now come to the knees instead of the previous 2 to 3 inches above the knee for middle school students.
Personal iPods are now banned in elementary schools, and students will be required to have a doctor's note for 15 excused or unexcused absences. Also, volunteers who want to work in the school will now have to pay 20-dollars for a background check by the school district.
The handbook changes were approved by the St. Cloud School Board on June 28th.
