ST. AUGUSTA, Minn. (AP) - Stearns County authorities say two men are safe after they managed to escape from their sinking car.
The sheriff's office says 29-year-old Benjamin Charles Lortz of St. Cloud was driving Saturday about 1:30 a.m. when he lost control around a corner. The vehicle went off the road and landed in a holding pond.
Lortz was able to get out. His passenger, 19-year-old Cody Erickson of Kimball, also escaped but with minor cuts on his arm.
The car eventually sank.
