ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud woman died late Sunday after authorities say she tried to cross a New Ulm road and was hit by a car, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

Norma Flanigan, 75, of St. Cloud was walking westbound when she attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Highway 15 between 14th and 15th South streets in New Ulm around 8:40 p.m. Sunday.

The report said while Flanigan was trying to cross, she was hit by a southbound Pontiac Grand Prix. The driver of that vehicle was identified as Elmer Epke of Courtland. Epke, 80, was not hurt in the crash.

It was not immediately clear whether Flanigan was crossing in a designated crossing area or whether any charges would be filed against Epke.
