ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A man was arrested this morning after leading four law enforcement agencies on a chase through through St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids.
The initial call came in just after 2:00 am on a possible vehicle break-in in progress in the 2000 block of 27th Street Southeast in St. Cloud.
The suspect was spotted leaving the area in a black two-door pickup, but 35 year-old Omar Alvarez of St. Cloud refused to pull over, and led authorities on a pursuit that covered nearly 12 miles. It finally ended in the 1500 block of Ninth Avenue North in St. Cloud.
Alvarez was taken to the Stearns County Jail. He could also face charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, driving after cancellation, theft, tampering with a motor vehicle and drug possession. He also had two warrants out for his arrest.
Police from St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids along with the State Patrol and Benton County Sheriff's Department were involved in the pursuit.
