St. Cloud man arrested for fourth DUI in the past 6 months

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) – A St. Cloud man has been arrested for driving under the influence for the fourth time since July 2011, according to St. Cloud police.

Just after 4:30 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 9th Avenue North in response to a call about a possible intoxicated driver. Upon arriving, police found Lamonte Antoine Powells, 28, of St. Cloud parking the vehicle.

After performing poorly in standardized field sobriety tests, Powells was placed under arrest for driving while impaired. According to reports, Powells then performed a breathalyzer test, which registered at .15, almost double the legal limit.

The DUI was Powells' 4th DUI since July of 2011.

Powells was booked and held at the Stearns County Jail for felony first degree DWI and felony first degree DWI .08 or more.
