ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The dry and windy weather has prompted St. Cloud officials to ban all recreational burning with the city limits until further notice.

St. Cloud Fire Marshal Mike Post tells KNSI News crews are seeing an increase in calls lately due to the tinder-dry conditions.

Post says they even had a report of a storm sewer fire yesterday, likely the result of someone throwing out a cigarette that caught fallen leaves and other debris on fire.

Post says the burning ban does not apply to grilling.
