St. Cloud Hospital Opens Birthing Center Addition

ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The new birthing center at St. Cloud Hospital opened Tuesday. The center is in a ten-story addition to the hospital that was part of a 223-million dollar expansion that began in 2007.

The new birthing center is designed and equipped to allow the hospital to handle more high-risk pregnancies and premature births. There are also amenities that encourage more family involvement during the mother's hospital stay.

About ten-percent of the birthing center's patients are high-risk deliveries.
