ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Portions of East St. Germain Street were briefly closed and residents of a St. Cloud mobile home park were evacuated after a work crew hit a gas line Thursday morning, a St. Cloud police spokesperson said.

The incident began after an XCel Energy crew punctured the 2-inch gas line just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday near East St. Germain and 12th Avenue Northeast.

As a precaution, East St. Germaine Street was closed at 12th Avenue and several homes near the scene were evacuating, including residents at the Cloverleaf Mobile Home Park along Highway 10.

The leak was quickly capped and residents were allowed to return to their homes just before noon. No one was injured.
