ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - St. Cloud is losing its State Patrol dispatch center. The Patrol announced Wednesday it will move the center to Roseville--effective September 12th.

Five employees will be affected. Lieutenant Eric Roeske said three will transfer to Roseville, and another will take a position at the Patrol office in St. Cloud. Roeske said patrol administration will remain in St. Cloud, and the move will not affect troopers.

With evolving technology, dispatchers no longer need to be in the area from which they're fielding calls. The Roseville dispatch center has already been handling overnight calls for the St. Cloud Patrol District.
