ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) It looks like central Minnesota will narrowly miss a powerful winter storm that will track across the Midwest Wednesday and Thursday.
The storm will produce heavy snow, and strong northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph at times. That will produce whiteout conditions across Iowa, far southeastern Minnesota, and southern Wisconsin.
It appears the heaviest snow will fall from northeastern Iowa through Central Wisconsin, where 6 to 12 inches can be expected.
Southern Minnesota could see a couple of inches of snow with this system. However, the worst conditions will be from Des Moines, Iowa through Madison, Wisconsin, where travel is not advised.
