ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Traffic was shut down in a St. Cloud neighborhood for a couple of hours Tuesday night as police attempted to arrest a felony fugitive wanted by the Department of Corrections.
Twenty six year-old Juanel Anthony Mikulak was wanted on an active felony warrant for a narcotics probation violation.
He was pulled over in the area of Third Street and 23rd Avenue North, but holed up in his vehicle and refused to come out. Traffic was shut down and area residents were asked to stay in their homes.
Tactical negotiators were brought to the scene, and Mikulak and a female passenger eventually game themselves up peacefully about two-and-a-half hours later. The female was released at the scene. Mikulak was taken into custody.
Assisting St. Cloud police and the Department of Corrections were officers with the Waite Park Police Department, and the Stearns and Benton County Sheriffs Departments.
