St. Cloud PD investigates hit and run

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) St. Cloud police are investigating a hit and run car-pedestrian accident.

Sergeant Jason Burke says officers were called to the 10-block of Fifth Avenue South at 2:30 this morning.

A 27 year-old Waite Park man was found lying on the ground in front of the Red Carpet. He had sustained injuries after being struck by a car that was abandoned in the middle of the street.

That car is described as a maroon-colored 1994 Taurus, four door sedan.

The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with what police say are non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified.

Police are looking for help on who may have been driving the vehicle, and they'd like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the hit and run.
