ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A St. Cloud man was arrested Wednesday--but not before ramming the squad car of an officer trying to take him into custody.

Members of the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force were attempting to arrest 21 year-old Daniel Stanger on drug charges. They tried to stop Stanger in the 400-block of 33rd Avenue North.

Stanger refused to pull over, and after driving a couple of blocks, he drove his vehicle into the side of a marked squad car that was alongside of him.

The officer that had been struck then accelerated his squad car and pushed Stanger's vehicle up into the driveway of a convenience store at 33rd Avenue North and Seventh Street--ending the pursuit.

Stanger is being held in the Stearns County Jail on charges of fleeing a police officer.

Nobody was injured, but both vehicles sustained significant damage.
