MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) - A 36-year-old St. Cloud man pleaded guilty to robbing a grocery store TCF Bank on the city's east side.

Fehd El Mehdi Kourima pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.

Kourima, who was indicted on June 10, 2013, entered his plea in St. Paul federal court.

In his plea agreement, Kourima admitted that he stole about $1,000 on May 5, 2013.

Kourima reportedly went into the bank, located in the Cashwise East store, around 12:30 p.m.

He approached a teller, and handed them a note that read, “Put as many $100 bills as you can into this envelope in fifteen seconds and no one gets hurt.”

After receiving the money, Kourima left the store and ran to a vehicle parked outside.

He was arrested later that day.

Kourima faces a potential maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. His specific sentence will be handed down at a time still to be determined.
