St. Cloud man dies after being hit by taxi

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A pedestrian has died after being struck by a taxi cab in downtown St. Cloud.

Police Sergeant Jason Burke says it happened at 1:55 Sunday morning between the Press Bar and Le St. Germain Hotel. Thirty three year-old Timothy Arthur Martin of St. Cloud was crossing the street from east to west, when he was hit by a Tuxedo Taxi Cab driven by 22 year-old Dylan Joseph Gnoinsky of St. Cloud.

Burke says Martin was outside the crosswalk when he was hit. Martin fell backwards and struck his head. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with significant head trauma, and died Sunday afternoon.

Burke says Gnoinsky is not facing any criminal charges as a result of the accident.
