St. Cloud man arrested for assault

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A St. Cloud man has been arrested on several charges after police were called to a residence in the 400-block of Eighth Avenue North.

Sergeant Jason Burke says a 39 year-old woman told officers she had been assaulted by 44 year-old Thomas James Mitchell.

During the assault, Mitchell threatened to shoot the woman with a crossbow.

A search warrant was executed at the residence and turned up narcotics, marijuana and drup paraphernalia along with evidence from the assault.

Mitchell was arrested and booked into the Stearns County Jail. He faces charges of second degree assault, terroristic threats, and second and fifth degree possession of a controlled substance.
