ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) St. Cloud set a snowfall record on Saturday.
Five-point-seven inches were recorded--which was a record amount for January 18th. The old record was 3.2 inches set in 1935 and in 1922. It prompted the city of St. Cloud to issue a snow emergency.
It brings St. Cloud's snow total for January to nine-and-a-half inches, and the seasonal total to 33-and-a-half inches.
The National Weather Service says St. Cloud's current snow depth is 16 inches.
Measurable snow chances this week appear to be minimal, but cold air will return. Temperatures on Monday are expected to fall to around zero. Daytime highs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be around zero or a few degrees below zero. Overnight lows Wednesday night could approach 20 below zero. Temperatures are expected to warm into the low 20s by Friday.
