ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The St. Cloud City Council last night heard a report on the work of the Economic Development Authority during its first two years of operations.
Director Cathy Mehelich says in 2011 and 2012, the EDA attracted 170 full-time jobs to St. Cloud, and retained another 286 full-time jobs. It also helped attract $36 million in private investment.
Their work included landing German farm equipment manufacturer Geringhoff to St. Cloud. They'll open a plant in the Airport Industrial Park this spring with 100 workers initially.
They also created a construction assistance program, which helped three local businesses expand and add jobs.
