ST. CLOUD, Minn. (kNSI) The Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation is holding a news conference next Tuesday morning to announce additional flights out of St. Cloud Regional Airport.
A new leisure destination is being added to the departure list. Since last December,Allegiant Airlines has been flying twice a week from St. Cloud to Phoenix-Mesa. That service is being scaled back to one flight a week from this week through early October, when twice-weekly flights will resume.
Since that service began, the average passenger load has been about 150 per flight--which is near capacity.
Coporation, city and airport officials have openly expressed a desire to add daily service to Chicago's O'Hare Airport for business travelers, and have been hoping to have an announcement sometime in 2013.
