ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Spicer woman was arrested this week after a high-speed chase that reached speeds of 100 miles per hour.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the call began Tuesday afternoon with a report of a shoplifter at a local department store.
Waite Park police responded, but when they got there, the suspect had already left in a red Pontiac Grand Prix.
A short time later, a Stearns County deputy spotted the vehicle on 7th Street South in Waite Park and tried to stop it. The vehicle fled southbound on County Road 137 and then west on County Road 6 at high speeds. The car was eventually stopped on County Road 6 and 93rd Avenue in St. Joseph Township.
Authorities identify the driver as 27 year-old Kayla Nicole Dahl.
Inside her car were items stolen from stores in Waite Park, St. Cloud and Sartell. Those items are valued at nearly $4,000.
Dahl was arrested for felony theft and fleeing a police officer. She also had warrants out for her arrest from Stearns, Douglas and Kandiyohi counites.
