ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A welcome home ceremony was held at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud Sunday morning for soldiers with the 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor Regiment who are back home after an overseas deployment to Kuwait and Iraq.
The Brainerd-based unit--with companies from Alexandria, St. Paul, Sauk Centre and St. Cloud--was deployed last May as part of Operation New Dawn. More than 650 soldiers were part of that deployment.
Senator Amy Klobuchar was among those welcoming the soldiers home, saying she will continue to work to ensure these soldiers will receive the full benefits they need and deserve.
