ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Winter Storm Watch has been posted from late tonight through Saturday morning for west-central and northwestern Minnesota.

The precipitation will begin later today in the form of rain or freezing rain. Locations near Detroit Lakes and Bemidji could see ice accumulations approached a quarter of an inch.

Overnight and into Friday, precipitation will change to snow. It will continue through Friday night and into Saturday morning. The heaviest snow accumulations will be from Devils Lake, North Dakota to Roseau--where 8 to 10 inches are possible.

Winds will increase Friday afternoon and become strong Friday night, with near blizzard conditions possible in the Winter Storm Watch area.

St. Cloud is NOT included in the watch. Some of the cities in the watch area include Moorhead, Crookston, Thief River Falls, Bemidji, Fergus Falls, Detroit Lakes, Wadena and Park Rapids.
