ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Time to find the shovel and the snow brush. Snow is making its way across central Minnesota today--the first measurable snow of the season.
Forecasters say one to three inches is possible in an area from Redwood Falls to St. Cloud as the day progresses.
It may take awhile for the snow to stick due to the warm ground temparatures and recent rain. Grassy surfaces have the best chance to see accumulating snow, and bridge decks and overpasses could become slick.
Although some may not be happy to see snow this early in the season, the precipitation is welcome. St. Cloud is five inches below normal for precipitation since September 1st, and the area is in severe to extreme drought conditions.
A tenth of an inch of rain fell at St. Cloud Regional Airport Wednesday, bringing the monthly total to just over three-tenths of an inch.
