ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Snow made for difficult and dangerous driving conditions in Central Minnesota.
The National Weather Service reported 3.2 inches of snow fell at St. Cloud State University by 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Minnesota State Patrol says icy roads led to 42 crashes in the St. Cloud area by 9 p.m. resulting in one death and four injuries.
52 other vehicles slid off the road and required help.
A pileup briefly closed parts of Interstate 94 near Monticello.
A no-travel advisory was issued on Tuesday due to whiteout conditions.
We are expecting up to an inch of more snow for Wednesday morning's commute.
Tuesday's accidents followed a snowy Monday where the state patrol responded to 42 crashes including one fatal and five other injury accidents.
Another 38 cars slid off the road or spun out on Monday.
