ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) Southwest Minnesota State University has a new president.
Connie Gores was appointed Tuesday by the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
Gores has been at Winona State University since 2007 as vice president for student life and development and as interim president during the summer of 2012.
Gores earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from North Dakota State and her master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Colorado State.
MnSCU Chancellor Steve Rosenstone says Gores upbringing in rural and agricultural communities will serve her well in driving the mission and vision of Southwest Minnesota State.
