ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) There's no shortage of people interested in becoming the next executive director of Metro Bus in St. Cloud.

David Tripp holds that job now. He's retiring April 26th after a 33 year career with the agency.

Human Resources Manager Arlene Wirth tells KNSI News 65 people applied by last Friday's deadline. The applications came in from all over the country--Wisconsin, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Virginia, and Minnesota.

The applicants are now going through a preliminary screening process to make sure they have the required years of experience and educational level that are required for the job. Then the 11-member search committee chaired by St. Cloud State University Vice President Wanda Overland will begin to score the applicants and decide who to interview.

Once the interviews are finished, the committee will forward a short list of finalists to the Metro Bus Board of Commissioners, which will make the final selection.

The job was advertised with a salary range of $79,000 to $96,000 a year.
