ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for much of west-central Minnesota through Sunday night for northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph creating whiteout conditions.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through midnight for central and eastern Minnesota for heavy snowfall.

Far southern Minnesota remains under a Winter Weather Advisory.

The powerful winter storm will continue to affect Minnesota into Sunday evening. Snow has accumulated heavily on trees and power lines , bringing the threat for isolated power outages into the evening hours as winds increase.

Temperatures will plummet behind the system to well below zero late Sunday night over western Minnesota with wind chill readings as low as 20 to 30 below zero. Travel in the Blizzard and Winter Storm Warning areas is discouraged. Travel will be very difficult--if not impossible--and stranded motorists risk getting frostbite or hypothermia due to the fridig wind chill Sunday night.

Total snow accumulations in the Winter Storm Warning area--including St. Cloud--will be eight to twelve inches--with localized amounts of 16 inches possible.
