MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) - A severe thunderstorm warning for Eastern Stearns County and Northwestern Meeker County issued just before 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning has been allowed to expire.

A line of severe storms on radar prompted the warning just before 6:00 a.m. The storms may be capable of producing quarter sized hail and damaging winds perhaps reaching 60 mph. Forecasters estimate the storms were moving east at a rate of 30 mph.

Areas that were in the path off possible storms included St. Cloud, Paynesville, Freeport, Albany, Richmond, Cold Spring, Avon and Watkins.

More rain is still possible throughout the area on Thursday.
