MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KNSI) - A severe thunderstorm warning for northern Benton County and Morrison County issued Thursday morning has expired after forecasters noticed a weakening of the line of storms.
The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities issued the warning at just before 8:00 a.m. after radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing large damaging hail up to golf ball size, and damaging winds of 60 mph.
Storms were located along a line extending from 6 miles east of Pillager, to Fort Ripley, to Upsala and moving east at 40 MPH. At 7:30 a.m. a trained spotter reported golf ball size hail in Bowlus.
