CHANHASSEN, Minn. (KNSI) Thunderstorms are expected to spread into west central and southwest Minnesota during the late evening hours Monday. The storms will then progress slowly eastward overnight. A few of the storms could be severe with damaging winds over southwest and south central Minnesota. Areas of fog are also possible tonight to the north and east of the Twin Cities.

Storms will likely be ongoing over portions of the area Tuesday morning. More storms are expected to redevelop by afternoon as a cold front drops in from the northwest. Severe storms are possible across the whole area on Tuesday with damaging winds and large hail possible.

Lows tonight will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Highs on Tuesday will be in the middle to upper 80s.
