CHISHOLM, Minn. (KNSI) More than 140 soldiers with the Minnesota National Guard's 114th Transportation Company are being deployed to Afghanistan.
A departure ceremony is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Chisholm High School.
Army Captain Ryan Koester says they will be escorting equipment and supplies to sustain the war and the eventual drawdown in Afghanistan.
The 114th is returning to Afghanistan three-and-a-half years after a previous support mission. The unit lost one of its own when 24-year-old Specialist George Cauley of Walker was killed in an I-E-D attack on his convoy in October of 2009.
